Why We CareTM
The time after a diagnosis is a difficult one and we understand that you have many unanswered questions that relate to the diagnosis or in general. What does the future look like? What does this mean for my child? What does this mean for my family? What is the NDIS and how can I use NDIS best to help my child and also look after my family quality of life.
Having a child with a developmental concern can have a huge impact not only on parents but on all family members and can impact the quality of life of everyone if timely supports are not provided.
We CareTM workshops are an evidence-based and proven support program for parents / caregivers who have a child who is recently diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, neurodevelopmental conditions or developmental delays. If you wish to further understand your child’s diagnosis and gain additional supports across a range of areas, you are welcome to attend the workshops.

via We CareTM – We CareTM For Autism
- We provide evidence based resources and information about the diagnosis
- We provide opportunities for chats with parents and professionals who can help answer your questions related to Autism (such as what is ASD, behaviours of concern, emotional regulation, sensory issues, Parental self-care; evidence based interventions; Family support and how parents can return to things they did before; Reliable websites and information sources; or other things you want to know)
- We offer support on how you can set goals for your child that are meaningful
- We will support you to navigate the NDIS and to promote your child’s development and progress
- We will provide a supportive environment and a chance to talk to other parents and professionals.
- We will give you a model to support your own well-being while you are looking after your child/ren with strategies to look after yourself
We CareTM for Neurodevelopmental Conditions / Developmental Delays
- We provide evidence based resources and information about the diagnosis
- We provide opportunities for chats with parents and professionals who can help answer your questions related to developmental skills and milestones (Parental self-care; evidence based interventions; Family support and how parents can return to things they did before; Reliable websites and information sources; or other things you want to know)
- We offer support on how you can set goals for your child that are meaningful
- We offer ideas and strategies to encourage and facilitate your child’s play skills and development
- We will support you to navigate the NDIS and to promote your child’s development and progress
- We will provide a supportive environment and a chance to talk to other parents and professionals.
- We will give you a model to support your own well-being while you are looking after your child/ren with strategies to look after yourself

Participating in research is not mandatory and you can continue to access “We CareTM” groups without being a research participant.We will send a link prior to the workshop to complete the research questionnaires.
