Lynne Wood
Parent Support Person and Independent Support Co-ordinator (NDIS)
I am a mother of three courageous boys. My eldest son has a rare genetic disorder that affects his functional and cognitive abilities. I have worked in the disability sector for over 15 years in various roles and I am currently an independent NDIS Support Coordinator. I offer support and my experiences in the We Care program and can assist you with goal setting for NDIS as well as how we can support each other on our journeys.
Mel Osmotherly
Parent Support Person
I am a parent of a teenager with disabilities, who can offer a parent perspective to the We Care program. My son was diagnosed with his condition at 3 years old and has moved through many areas of support from Early Intervention to mainstream schooling and finally to a specialist schooling setting. I can relate to many common concerns of parents raising a child with a disability, such as: finding, building relationships with and working together with therapists to support my child and my family; balancing family life with supporting the additional requirements of a child with additional needs; finding alternative ways of managing daily routines and scenarios; recognising the importance of creating a support network around the parents, family and child.
